Prairie Paws Animal Shelter was founded on a simple yet profound dream: to give all animals a second chance at a happy, healthy, and free life. Our mission is to build a no-kill shelter where every animal can thrive while waiting to find their forever home. We believe every paw deserves a loving embrace.

Meet our compassionate team and discover our unique home

Behind Prairie Paws are six dedicated workers and myself, the owner, all united by a love for animals. We have three female kennel attendants, two female receptionists, and one male kennel attendant, who work tirelessly to care for our residents. We also partner with Roundup Veterinary Hospital, who graciously spays, neuters, and vaccinates all our pets for free before they go to their forever homes.

What makes us special? Our animals enjoy more space than typical shelters, with daily outdoor playtime in separate areas, even for our feline friends. Each animal is loved and cared for as if they were our own, making Prairie Paws a true home away from home.

We aspire to make a profound impact, helping animals in need understand they are loved, even before their new family arrives. We treat every pet as our own, ensuring they receive abundant affection, excellent care, and valuable training in manners.
